I have seen Ladies of Leisure (early Barbara Stanwyck film) and was impressed. This scene was a tearjerker for sure. Both ladies show emotion, Barbara even more so, over the love of a man who was an artist. Doesn't get any better than this. Thanks for the scene clip.

Fabulous film

Yes, the boy can be somewhat annoying, but he's a very emotive actor. He really does a fine job with his facial expressions and with filling moments with nuance when he's not the central character in the scene! I've seen other versions of this movie, and a lot of the children are stiff and stagnant.....they just sit there while reciting lines.

The most amazing scene in all of moviedom!!!!!!!!!!!! I stumbled upon this movie when I was bored as a boy. I didn't know anything about it, but I was captivated by Lionel Barrymore's performance. It was entertaining, but it became magical in this moment. Every time I see this scene, I turn into that boy again, and I laugh and cheer! The look on Mr. Brink's face is fantastic, and the way the tree shakes as Mr. Brink is captured just brings the excitement to a crescendo of elation. What an amazing movie!!!!!!!! Everyone needs to see it!

This is one of best of You Bet Your Life!! Everyone seemed to have a good time. First, Melba was so funny and cute as a button. The pharmacist had a good sense of humor and enjoyed his time. Second, the look on Groucho’s face when George Fenniman said “I’d like to give you the money right now was a crack up!! George had a great laugh on this show and couple as well when Melba wiped his brow. Then Groucho quipped “Melba’s husband is at the Race Track While All of this is Going On “ 🙏🏻👼😎😎👼🙏🏻
